All by myself!

PT started off with a negative notion. A woman came in and tried to encourage me to get out of bed on Thursday. I was NOT having it. I was in way too much pain and couldn't do it. Usually the therapists try to get you moving fairly quickly following surgery to help get a person on track, which was fine, but I didn't like her attitude. Friday came and a different lady arrived and was extremely helpful and took her time. I really liked her encouragement. I was still in alot of pain, and hit the morphine button every 8 minutes as I was allowed! Saturday I was able to get into a chair but man oh man did it hurt!

Monday I got mad. The PT that was in charge came into the room to help me get up and try walking. She was mean and actually hurt me to the point of tears. She did not allow me to move the rail above me to use the triangle to get out of bed. I told her that I have used it to get out of the bed, but she refused to move it. She asked me if I had any plans on purchasing this type of hospital bed for home. Of course my reply was no and her recourse was, unless I am purchasing this type of bed, I cannot move the triangle forward. She was hard on me. I am thinking to myself this isn't a football coach pushing the team to win. As she left the room she said "I will see you tomorrow." I didn't reply till the door was short, but I said out loud, "Oh no you wont." Suggested by my mom, I did talk to the doctor about the situation. He said sometimes you run into therapists who are like that, but dont worry about it in the future. Aparently, someone had a little talk with her because when she came back the next day... and wow what a difference in her attitude! She was catering to my every need! Even after therapy, she asked me two or three times if I needed help with anything.
Maybe it was a bad day for her, maybe I was the last patient and she was eager to get out of here. Either way, you dont treat anyone in a mean manor!

Eight days later I am able to get out of bed (slowly), walk to the bathroom, and get around hands down with the aid of a walker or crutches.
I cannot WAIT until this becomes easier.
